FEAR NOT - Day 21

Fear Not

Throughout Scripture, God repeatedly tells His people, “Fear not.” He says it because He understands the human heart. He knows how easily fear can overwhelm our thinking, steal our peace, and weaken our trust.

One of the clearest reminders is found in Isaiah 41:10.

Isaiah 41:10 — Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God.

Notice God does not simply command us not to fear without giving a reason. Every command in this verse is attached to a promise.

“Fear not, for I am with you.”
“Be not dismayed, for I am your God.”

The foundation of peace is not the absence of difficulty. It is the presence of God.

Fear often grows when we focus entirely on what is uncertain. We look at the future, our struggles, or our limitations and begin imagining worst-case scenarios. But God redirects our focus away from the size of the problem and back toward His strength, His presence, and His faithfulness.

The verse continues with even more reassurance:

I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

God does not tell us to overcome fear through willpower alone. He promises His help.

Fear says, “You will fall apart.”
God says, “I will uphold you.”

You may feel weak today, but you are not unsupported. The same God who commands you not to fear is the God who promises to sustain you.

Reflection:
What fears have been weighing most heavily on your heart lately? How might your perspective change if you focused more on God’s promises than on your circumstances?

Prayer:
Father, thank You for reminding me that I do not face life alone. When fear rises in my heart, help me remember Your presence, strength, and faithfulness. Teach me to trust Your promises more than my emotions and rest in the truth that You will uphold me. In Jesus’ name, amen.
