FEAR NOT - Day 16

Unshaken
Fear has a way of destabilizing us. Unexpected news, uncertainty about the future, emotional struggles, and difficult circumstances can leave us feeling unsettled and vulnerable. When life feels unpredictable, the heart naturally searches for something steady to hold onto.
David writes these words in Psalm 16:
Psalm 16:8 — I have set the Lord always before me; because he is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken.
Notice David does not say life itself will never shake. Storms still come. Pain still exists. Questions and struggles still arise. The difference is where his focus is fixed.
“I have set the Lord always before me.”
Fear becomes overwhelming when our attention is consumed by circumstances alone. The more we stare at uncertainty, the larger it appears. But stability grows when we intentionally place God at the center of our perspective.
David’s confidence was not rooted in perfect circumstances but in the nearness and faithfulness of God. “He is at my right hand.” In Scripture, the right hand symbolizes strength, support, and protection.
Fear says, “Everything is falling apart.”
Faith says, “God is still holding me steady.”
Being unshaken does not mean feeling emotionally untouched by hardship. It means your foundation remains secure even when emotions fluctuate. The presence of God anchors the soul in ways circumstances never can.
The world around us may feel unstable, but those who keep their eyes fixed on God can remain grounded in peace and trust.
Reflection:
What circumstances have been shaking your peace lately? How might your perspective change if you intentionally fixed your focus on God’s presence and faithfulness?
Prayer:
Father, when life feels uncertain and unstable, help me keep my eyes fixed on You. Remind me that You are near, steady, and faithful in every season. Strengthen my heart so that fear does not control me, and help me remain grounded in Your truth and presence. In Jesus’ name, amen.
